Free Pattern: Crochet Net Soap Saver and Body Scrubber


This is a pattern for a soap saver that doubles as a body scrubber, is written in American terms.

Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet
Sl st = slip stitch
St = stitch.

Materials: Small amount of worsted weight yarn, US size H/5mm Crochet Hook.

Pattern notes: The soap saver is worked in rounds, without turning. Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker.

Ch 11
Round 1:  sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc in the next 8 chains, 3 sc in last chain.
Work on opposite side of starting chain, sc in next 8 sts, 2 sc in last st, join with a slip stitch. (22 sc)

Round 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in every stitch around, join with a sl st in top of the beginning ch 3 of this round. (22 dc)

Round 3: ch 4, skip 1, dc in next st, *ch1, skip 1, dc in next st**, repeat the directions between * and ** 9 times, ch 1, join with a slip stitch in third chain of the stitch that counts as first dc at the beginning of this round. (11 dc and 11 skipped sts) 

Rounds 4 - 7: Repeat round 3.

Round 8: ch 3 ( counts as a dc), dc in every stitch around, join with a slip stitch in the 3rd ch of this round. (22dc)

Round 9: to make the handle, ch1, sc in first 3 sts, ch 20, skip 5 stitches, sc in next 6 sts, and again, ch 20, skip 5 stitches, sc in next 3 sts, join with a slip stitch.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Tie: Ch 70, Thread the chain through round 9 of  soap saver, tie in a bow.

Yes, you can use cotton yarn to make this scrubbie.
