Free Crochet Pattern: Business Card Holder

 This cozy is perfect to hold all your business cards; it will keep them from getting dirty or bend in your purse. It is one of those "less than 30 minutes projects". It is crocheted in one piece from the bottom up, in the round, and it can be embellish however you want. Be creative!

Skill level: Easy
This pattern is written in American terms.

Materials:
A small amount of worsted weight yarn
Crochet hook US-H/5.0 mm
Button and yarn needle for weaving in ends

Abbreviations:
Ch = chain
St = stitch
Sl st = slip stitch
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet

Notes:
* The loop on your hook does not count as a stitch.
* Ch 1 at the beginning of rounds does not count as a stitch.

Now here is the pattern:
Ch 15

Round 1: sc in second chain from hook and in the next 12 chains, 3 sc in last chain.
Work opposite side of chain and sc in the next 12 sts, 2 sc in last stitch of this round. Join with a sl st. (30 sc)

Round 2: Ch 1, hdc in same stitch as ch 1, hdc in every stitch around. Join with a sl st. (30 hdc)

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same stitch as ch 1, sc in every stitch around. (30 sc)

Rounds 4 and 6: Repeat instructions for round 2.

Rounds 5 and 7: Repeat instructions for round 3.

Optional round: If you have many cards to store, repeat round 3 one more time to keep the top edge of the cards covered.

Make the flap:
Row 8: Sl st on the next 5 sts, sc in the next 6 sts.

Row 9 and 10: Ch 1, turn, sc in same st as ch 1, sc in next 5 sts. (6 sc)

Row 11: (Buttonhole row) Ch 1, turn, sc in same st as ch 1, sc in next st, ch 2, skip 2 and sc in last 2 sts of this row. (4 sc, 2 skipped sts)

Rows 12 and 13: ch 1, sc in same st as ch 1, sc in every st across (6 sc).

Fasten off, weave in ends. Sew the button and enjoy!
